Super Mario 3 Movie Confirmed For 2029 Release

Super Mario 3 Movie - 2029

The Super Mario animated series is getting ready for its third installment. Actor Keegan-Michael Key, who provides the voice for Toad in the series, confirmed that a sequel is happening while discussing the film’s release on digital platforms.

The very popular animated series, Super Mario, is set to have its third sequel. The franchise looks into the tale that unfolds among the bright, glowing pipes of the mushroom kingdom and the vastness of outer space. Mario and his team are involved in battles on two different fronts.

After this, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie takes the characters away from their usual surroundings and sends them into space. Bowser and his son have taken Princess Rosalina, which raises the tension and makes the movie feel more intense and unusual.

This movie introduced a new partnership, new worlds, and a cast that now features Donald Glover, Brie Larson, and Glen Powell, making this part feel more like an improvement rather than just a continuation. And apparently, we can expect something better? Here’s what Keegan-Michael Key has to say.

Keegan-Michael Key’s take on franchise sequel

In a chat with ScreenRant about the digital release of The Super Mario Galaxy movie, Keegan-Michael Key, who voices the beloved nervous character Toad, confirmed that there will be a third movie in the franchise.

However, it is planned for a theatrical release in 2029. This is similar to what Jack Black (who plays Bowser) said, meaning there are now two people in the same year who made similar comments.

But, there has been no official statement from either Universal Pictures or Illumination. The key reason for the announcement about the release in 2029 was explained by Key, who mentioned, “We want to make sure we have all the details correct.”
He later acknowledged the film’s directors for its success, saying it was fueled by their enthusiasm for the project and the effort they put into making the movie a great success. He then mentioned, “It will be worth waiting… ’29 is better than waiting for a while, right?” This made the fans even more excited.

Super Mario Galaxy Movie on OTT

The first two parts of the series can now be rented or bought on digital platforms such as Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube.

The physical Blu-ray and DVD versions will be released on June 16. Making the movies accessible online so you can enjoy watching them all at once from the comfort of your home.
